On Saturday 11 February I was involved in organizing a Public Transport Have A Go day at Melling Station in Lower Hutt as part of the My Life My Way collective.

The aim of the day was for people with mobility needs or who just wanted to learn more about a range of transport options to come along and try out different options to be more comfortable using public transport.

We had a train, accessible bus and a range of other transport providers, including Driving Miss Daisy, Freedom Companion Drivers and Hutt and City Taxis there so people could ask questions and have a go. Even Air New Zealand came down from Auckland. There were a few other providers such as Lagan’s Pharmacy with their mobility equipment and Freedom Medical Alarms there as well.

Below is a selection of photos from the day.
