On United Nations Human Rights Day today, John Mulka, Blind & Low Vision NZ Chief Executive, says the time for access legislation is now.

“It seems that it’s not until we’re in the shoes of people wondering how they might tackle a flight of stairs – or indeed where that flight of stairs is – that it is truly apparent how much of our world is designed for people with specific abilities.”

It’s time to change the ‘way things have been’ and advance human rights for people with disabilities and all New Zealand.
