Get Your Alexa Now

Thanks to the Ministry of Social Development, Blind Low Vision NZ has 3500 Alexa smart speakers to give to their members.

If you aren’t familiar with the Alexa smart speaker – there are many benefits. It is easily activated by voice and you can ask Alexa the time, set reminders, listen to the news or music, get Covid-19 updates, and access public transport information – to name a few!

If you are a Blind Low Vision NZ library member you can access more than 35,000 books and magazines in their collection just by using your voice.

If you would like to get an Alexa, fill in this form or call Blind Low Vision NZ on 0800 24 33 33.

Other ways to access the library:

Dolphin Easy Reader app and BookLink web are other options to access the library but they will be phasing out CDs to deliver talking books by 30 June 2021.

They know many of their library members love receiving their talking books via CD but unfortunately, this is becoming an obsolete technology and CDs are becoming harder and harder to come by.

Alexa is easy to set up but support is available if you need it.

Blind Low Vision Chief Executive John Mulka says: "It is so great to be able to offer you this opportunity".Amazon Echo
